toddlers activity
Many people have a hard time finding new and exciting activies for their toddler. It is important to find new and stimulating activies for your toddler on a regular basis. Activies that will help them learn and grow are a good idea.
Any activity that involves counting for your toddler is a good idea. One way you can do this is by putting some objects in a brown paper bag. You can use anything from jelly beans to cotton balls. Grab a handful of the jelly beans out of the bag and count them out loud to your toddler. Be sure to change up the items that you use for the counting, to keep them interested.
Other than counting, it is good to get your toddler accustomed to seeing and identifying shapes and colors. Here is one great way to get your child identifying shapes and colors. Print out a sheets of paper with outlines of different shapes. Use different colors for each outline. Next, cut out the shapes and colors that match up with the outlines you have already made. Now hide the shapes around the house. After that, it is time to give your toddler the sheets with the outlines on it and help them hunt down the shapes and stick them to the outlines with tape.
A timeless classic with toddlers is using water colors. Not only is this good in helping your kid identify colors, but what toddler doesn’t enjoy playing with water? All you need for this activity is cups, food coloring, and some water. If your child is the messy type, it might be a good idea to take your water colors outside. Also, make sure that the cups you use are clear so your child is able to distinguish the colors.
There are many, many things you can do with your toddler involving Cheerios. If you are not the creative type, you can just hand them the Cheerios and let them eat them. Here are a few better ideas. Let your child show his or her artistic side by making smiley faces on a peanut butter sandwich. Drop them into a jar and then allow your toddler to have a chance. This is good to develop coordination. You can draw cars on paper and then let your child use the Cheerios to create wheels. This helps your toddler with analytical and thinking skills.
With spring coming up, it is a great time to make objects for your toddler to fly through the air. Here is an easy method to make wind streamers. Cut out some colored tissue paper into 4 foot long strips. Take 4-5 of the strips and tape them together. Put the tape around the middle of the strips. Instruct your toddler to hold the streamers in the middle, where the tape is. Have him run around with the streamers flying behind. Expect a lot of giggling to occur during this activity.
Remember, activities for your toddler that stimulate them mentally are fun, too!
